Vlinder CT PLLC in #AACfamily, AAC, AAC, AAC Awareness Month

Welcome to #AACfamily Friday (week 2)!  Wondering what #AACfamily is?  Read about it here.  For more #AACfamily photos and fun, check out Uncommon Sense Blog after you are done here.

Aided-language (AAC) in play = increased variety of words used, more flexible language, help with word-finding and language organization for a verbal child

"Help!  I need a little direction again."

AAC on the road - I hit the road (AAC device in tow) for a school consultation this week.

On Facebook this week:  I shared a sampling of blogs written by parents of children who use AAC.  They write about their journey to, and through, AAC in addition to special needs and life in general.  Do you have favorite not on my list?  Please share - I love finding new blogs to read!

In no particular order:

     Fighting Monsters with Rubber Swords

The Adventures of Chiken & Ham

     AAC and ABCs

     Life on the precipice

     On the Train with Sophie

     You Don't Say

     Kreed's World

     Star In Her Eye

Are you a member of the global AAC 'family'?  Please join in #AACfamily Fridays throughout October by sharing anything AAC-related (pictures, stories, links, resources, etc.)!  Send them in, or post them yourself (don't forget the hashtag #AACfamily).  You may never know how deeply you touch someone else's life, but never underestimate the power of sharing.

Now, go check out Uncommon Sense Blog's post!
