Review Week #2

November 11-15
Review Week

O, B, X, S, A, I, F, L, P, J, M, H, and U.  Whew!  We are halfway through the alphabet.  And now it is November.  This coming Monday we pay tribute to the men and women in the armed forces who have served, or are serving, our country.

A couple of weeks later we take time to give thanks for all the goodness, big and small, in our lives.  Thanksgiving, Christmas, Hanukkah, Winter Solstice… “The Holidays”.  Busy, busy, busy.  So, now through the beginning of 2014 (!) we will have several weeks of review with a few new letters/sounds sprinkled in.  This coming week?  A review week!   You will also notice an over-riding theme through November of gratitude/Thanksgiving (with special focus on turkeys one week...but more on that in my next post).

Here are a few ideas to get you started reviewing:

Check my last review post for some ideas (remember to add in letters/sounds we have covered since).

I love, LOVE this Magnetic Alphabet Build-a-Word post (and FREEBIE download) from This Reading Mama.  While bringing letters together to form simple words, the focus is on beginning sounds (not memorizing how to spell/read words).

Eat the alphabet through snacks!  Eating The Alphabet by Lois Ehlert is the perfect book to read as you eat your way through each letter/sound.

Have fun with homemade Phonics I-Spy Discovery Bottles.

Have you seen this game?  Super Why ABC Letter Game

Read, read, read!

What ideas do you have to add to this list?  I'd love to hear what you are up to!
