Can you smell it? Fall is in the air. Kiddos are back in school. Time to dig back in after our first review week. Up next is the letter 'a' and fun with apples. ‘A’ is a vowel, which means is makes more than one sound. From a speech perspective, short ‘a’ (as in apple) is a “smile” sound.
We are four letters in: O, B, X, and S. Which brings us to Week #5; a week with a holiday (Labor Day), and for some no therapy. School starts this week for many area schools. Seems like a good time to pause and review.
Learning to form the letters of the alphabet develops important motor skills, strengthens memory and recall of the alphabet, and sets up learning for another key literacy skill: written language.
Can you believe it?!? Back to school season is upon us! Time to get back into those school bedtime and wake up/morning routines. To flow with conversations you are probably already having with your young ones, our theme this week is school and our letter, ‘s’.
